The Depot Restaurant Celebrates 100 & 200 Year Milestones SEAVIEW, WA(ContentDesk) September 7, 2005 -- The Depot Restaurant, a Pacific Northwest dining destination for fresh seafood and regionally-focused cuisine, is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the location's history as railroad depot. The Centennial Celebration will feature a series of events and special menus; each event showcasing executive chef Michael Lalewicz' innovative cooking philosophy.The Depot is housed in the former train depot for the Ilwaco Railroad and Navigation Company, nick-named the "Clamshell Railroad" due to its status as the only organized railroad to run according to the local tide tables. Construction of the now-historic depot in Seaview was authorized in 1905."Guests and local history buffs alike thoroughly enjoy the history and ambience of The Depot," said Nancy Gorshe, co-proprietor.
